The New Cultural Venue on the Left Bank

Categories : Exhibitions and Museums, published on : 2/5/24

At the location of the former Galeries Lafayette, at the foot of the Montparnasse Tower, the Galeries Montparnasse offer a new way to experience culture. With their vast spaces, three 10,000 m² stages each, they provide a venue adaptable to all desires, skillfully combining culture and entertainment, as demonstrated by the ongoing exhibitions. Take advantage; it's only about twenty minutes by metro from the Platine Hôtel.

An Enticing Program

Halfway between the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, and the halls of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Galeries Montparnasse perfectly illustrate the desire to offer a solid and refined cultural offering in a playful and attractive setting. Since December, "The Art of the Brick" exhibition has triumphed, using over a million Lego bricks to reproduce the greatest masterpieces in the history of art and create truly unprecedented artistic performances.

Meeting with Tutankhamun

Starting from February 3, the venue transforms into the Valley of the Kings. You are invited to 1923, inside Howard Carter's tent on the eve of the most famous archaeological discovery: that of Tutankhamun's tomb. Another exhibition on ancient Egypt? Not at all! Galeries Montparnasse invites you to a real treasure hunt, among objects you can manipulate for a chance to enter the inner sanctum, the tomb chamber. The excitement of the quest blends with the pleasure of discovering hundreds of authentic objects from Tutankhamun's tomb, reproduced identically by the teams at the Cairo Museum.

Galeries Montparnasse marks a true cultural renewal for the neighborhood by offering a sharp and playful cultural offering. Don't miss checking out the program during your stay at Platine Hôtel.
